How We Got Started
With 30 years' experience in home furnishing and design, Fidenzio Bizzotto assembled a team from around the world, comprised of sleep experts, researchers and producers to develop the first Sleep On Green mattress.
We are an artisan mattress company with a 40 year pedigree in the tradition of hand-making fine beds with a fresh perspective. Our goal matches Fidenzio’s mission: crafting each piece by hand, where the detail and precision can be seen in every stitch.

Why We Got Started
At the time, Christian had recently purchased a memory foam mattress, but it wasn’t until he was confined to it, that we all realized it was doing much more harm than good. We quickly understood that he needed a mattress that not only provided the proper support necessary for his back, but also a mattress that was breathable and made with natural materials to prevent boils and bed sores.
Before our son's accident we had no idea what healthy sleep or clean sleep meant. Like many of us, we thought a mattress was a mattress, and as long as it seemed ‘comfy’, that’s all that mattered. It wasn’t until then that we had a wakeup call as we started to do some research and learned how memory foam mattresses as well as conventional mattresses can potentially make you sick.
This life changing moment spurred us into action, it was with great urgency that we searched for a “natural” mattress, one that would support Christian during his long road to recovery.
WHY WE GOT STARTED
The Sleep On Green journey started on Memorial Day weekend 2007, when our son Christian was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident which caused him to be bedridden for several months. Over 20 years of research and development
Sleep On Green’s® team of scientists have worked to develop a mattress that is a healthy and luxurious alternative to the chemical filled mattress that we sleep on today.
Environmental Commitment
Most of our materials are plant-based and we wanted to repay Mother Earth. For every mattress sold, trees are planted in affected forests around the world. With the help of One Tree Planted, we cover regions in California and Australia impacted by raging wildfires and regions in Florida's everglades decimated by deforestation.

Hypoallergenic . Sustainable . Biodegradable
Manufactured in Italy, the mattress is made from nature’s purest natural elements.
Wool
Wool relieves pressure points and muscle aches to promote a deep, restful night's sleep.
Cotton
Cotton helps absorb and remove body moisture caused by sweat, minimizing fungal breeding. It also aids in reducing allergic reactions.
Natural Latex
Natural Latex keeps the spine properly supported throughout the night. Even distribution of pressure facilitates the travel of oxygen and nutrients to the body’s muscles.
Coconut
Coconut is extremely strong and resilient with exceptional air permeability properties. It keeps the mattress internally dry and promotes maximum hygiene.
